Alfen Elkamo has delivered four solar transformer substations to Finland's largest solar power plant
Alfen Elkamo delivered four solar transformer substations to the Juurakko solar power plant in Kalajoki, Finland. Juurakko is Finland's largest solar power plant and is part of the first Nordic hybrid power plant, which includes solar panels and wind turbines. The Juurakko solar power plant alone has a capacity of up to 13 megawatts, which is achieved with the help of 24 000 solar panels.
The solar transformer substations Alfen Elkamo supplied have a capacity of 2 500 kVA each. One of these is the primary substation, which includes a 33 kV switchgear, protection systems, and monitoring.
Alfen Elkamo's customer in this project was Solarigo Oy, a Finnish energy company specializing in large solar power implementations.
